Migration to Shopify

This is the shape of a migration XCO runs. It is not a button in an app.

What moves

  • Products, variants, and collections
  • Customers and order history
  • Redirects, so the URLs you already rank for do not 404
  • The integrations the store cannot sell without: payments, tax, shipping, ERP, reviews

Gift cards, subscriptions, and blogs need their own pass. They rarely survive a generic CSV.

How we sequence it

  1. Discovery. Catalog size, markets, apps, and the URLs that already earn traffic.
  2. A trial import on a development store. We compare counts before anyone touches production.
  3. Theme and checkout on Shopify, including the apps from this docs site that replace a custom widget.
  4. Redirect map from the old URLs to the new ones, checked against the old sitemap.
  5. Cutover. DNS when the trial store matches, with a freeze on catalog edits during the final import.

What we will not pretend

A migration is not zero-risk, and "zero downtime" on xco.agency means the storefront stays up while data moves. It does not mean every app from the old platform has a twin. If a feature has no Shopify equivalent, we say so in discovery.
