What Quick Widgets changes

This page is for merchants. It is not a setup guide for developers, and Quick Widgets does not publish a separate public API. You turn widgets on in the Shopify admin and place them in the theme editor or the checkout editor.

The steps are in the merchant guide. The app is in the studio and is not on the Shopify App Store.

Service charge

The offer adds a product you already sell. You set the fee as a percentage of the cart, or as a fixed amount on the storefront. The app picks the variant whose price is closest to that fee and adds it to the cart when the shopper accepts. The shopper pays that variant's price in the same cart. The app does not invent a separate charge.

In checkout you choose a variant and a percentage from 0 to 100. If the product has more than one variant, the percentage is what picks among them. The price shown is still the variant's price.

If that product is out of stock, the theme editor warns you on the block. Shoppers cannot use the offer until the product is available again.

Checkout field

The custom field at checkout is an order note. It is not a name, email, phone, or address, and it is not saved as a customer profile.

You choose text, a checkbox, or a dropdown. If the label or the placeholder contains a personal detail Shopify checkout already asks for, the field is hidden. The editor tells you which word caused that. The live checkout does not show the field.

A field placed on a product page is saved with that item in the cart. The same personal-detail check applies there. It can be text, a longer note, a dropdown, a checkbox, a date, or a file.

Cart progress bar

The bar shows how close the cart is to as many as three amounts you set. {amount} in a message is replaced with what is still left. You also write the line shoppers see when every target is reached.

The bar does not create a discount, a free-shipping rate, or a reward. It only shows the message you wrote. On the page you can change the bar's color, height, and alignment.

Which widgets are on

Overview in the app lists every widget as active or inactive. It also counts how many are on the storefront and how many are in checkout. Editing is done from the home list, not from that page.

Plans

PlanPriceWhat is on
Free$01 active widget
Pro$4.99 a monthEvery widget at once

Those prices are the app's plan config. They are not an App Store listing.

Checkout blocks need Shopify Plus. Page blocks need a theme that can take app blocks. On Free, a block past the one active widget does not show, and the theme editor says the plan does not include it.
