FAQ
What does Floaty add to the store?
A visible set of icons for social profiles, chat, and other links. You can run more than one group, such as Social and Contact, and you control size, shape, color, and position. The library includes major social icons, including WhatsApp and TikTok, and an icon can also open a link you choose.
Do I edit the theme?
No. Floaty is a theme app embed. Turn it on once in the theme editor and save. Turn the embed off and the buttons leave with it. You do not paste code into the theme.
What is on the free plan?
One icon group, up to five icons in that group, basic customization, starter templates, and standard support.
What does Pro cost, and what does it add?
Pro is $4.99 a month, or $39 a year (save 35%), with a 3-day free trial.
Pro adds:
- Unlimited icon groups and buttons
- Animations, shadows, and borders
- Page and device targeting
- Scheduling by a date range and by day of the week
- Delay, scroll, and exit-intent triggers
- Click analytics and a CSV export
- Import and export of your groups
- Priority support
Can one group be a mobile bar?
Yes. On Basics, set Group type to Navigation Bar. Choose Fixed Bottom, Floating Pill, or Floating Menu. You can show labels, mark the active item, feature one button, and blur the background.
A floating group is the other type. It stacks icons in a corner, on an edge, or centered, horizontally or vertically.
How do templates work?
Open Browse all templates and apply a ready-made group for social, chat, navigation, promo, or support. Then replace the sample links with yours. Starter templates are on the free plan. The free plan still allows only one group, so apply one template until you move to Pro.
Can I show a group on only some pages or phones?
Yes, on Pro. Open Targeting.
- Pages: all pages, only the pages you list, or hidden on the pages you list.
- Devices: all devices, desktop, mobile, or tablet.
Schedule limits the group to a start date, an end date, and days of the week. The free plan does not include these controls. The group shows whenever the embed is on.
How do click counts work?
On Pro, open Analytics. You get total clicks for the last 7, 30, or 90 days, compared with the previous window, plus counts by group, action, day, and device. Export CSV downloads the rows.
The free plan does not include this report. Counts only grow after a shopper clicks an icon on the storefront.
Which themes work?
Themes that support app embeds. If the theme editor has no App embeds section, Floaty cannot render on that theme. After you publish a different theme, turn the embed on again for that theme.
Will a lot of groups annoy shoppers?
Usually yes. Start with one group. Use click counts on Pro to drop icons nobody uses before you add another group.
The bar covers the buy button.
Move the bar, shorten the group, or hide it on the product page. Check a phone, not only the desktop preview.
Can one group be a bar on mobile and a stack on desktop?
Use the device rules. A phone can see the bar while desktop sees the stack, or neither.
The group shows on a page I excluded.
Save, publish, and reload that page. The theme app also has to be on.
Can a button open the cart?
Yes. A button can open a link, a call, an email, a product, a collection, the cart, or a point on the page.
Every button shows zero.
The group may be off, or the theme app is off. Publish the group, turn the theme app on, then click one button yourself and look again.
Can I hide a button without deleting the group?
Yes. Remove that button, or limit the group to the pages and devices where it belongs.
