Frequently asked questions
Is ORDA free?
Yes. The Shopify listing has one plan, and it is free. There is no paid tier and nothing is held behind an upgrade.
What does a shopper type?
Two things:
- The order number
- The email on the order, or the phone on the order or its shipping address
They do not need a customer account. Guest checkout works if they use the email or phone from that order.
The order number can include # or not. The email has to be the one on the order. The phone has to be the one on the order or the shipping address. The box on the tracker is labeled Email address. If it will not accept a phone number, use the email from the order. If either part is wrong, the page says the order was not found. It does not show a different order.
Does it work with my theme?
Yes. Turn on the app embed, then add the Order tracker block in the theme editor. Colours, font, and size are settings on that block. Removing the app removes the block.
Where do tracking updates come from?
From the fulfillment in Shopify: its status, the carrier name, the tracking link, the items in that shipment, and a delivered or estimated delivery date when Shopify has one.
ORDA does not log in to FedEx, UPS, USPS, DHL, or any other carrier. If your shipping app or a manual fulfillment wrote the tracking onto the order, the page can show it. If the fulfillment has no tracking number, there is nothing to link.
Fulfill the order the way you already do. The next lookup reads the updated fulfillment.
What about an order that ships in more than one box?
Each fulfillment is listed on its own, with its own status, tracking link, and line items. A shopper who received one box can see which items are still moving.
Where does the delivery date come from?
Two different dates:
- On the tracking page, the date is the one stored on that shipment in Shopify (estimated delivery, or the day it was delivered). ORDA does not calculate that one.
- On the product page, the Estimated delivery block uses Delivery rules you write: cut-off time, processing days, and a transit range, optionally for one country or one product tag. The store's timezone is used. If no rule matches, the block stays blank.
Can someone look up any order?
No. The order number and the email or phone both have to match. An order with no email and no phone cannot be opened by typing a blank value.
Do I see the lookups?
Yes. Home shows totals and delivery performance (on-time, average transit, delay rate) for the last 7, 30, or 90 days, or all time. All Requests lists each lookup as found or not found.
Is there an API?
No. ORDA does not publish a separate public API. Shoppers use the theme block. See API.
How do I get help?
Email hello@xco.agency. See Support.
The lookup says the order does not match.
The email or phone must be the one on the order. The order number alone is not enough.
Does this create a tracking number?
No. ORDA shows the fulfillment and the tracking link Shopify already has.
The date on the product page looks wrong.
Open the delivery rules. The estimate uses those rules. It does not invent a carrier date.
Split shipments show one number.
Open the order lookup. Each fulfillment Shopify already has should show its own tracking link.
A shopper says the log is wrong.
Compare the order number and the email or phone they typed with the order in Shopify. A mismatch does not open the order.
Does the log create tracking?
No. It records lookups. Tracking is the link Shopify already stored when you fulfilled the order.
