Frequently asked questions
What is Quick Notice?
Quick Notice puts a clear alert on the storefront or in checkout. You write the message, style it, preview it, and choose who should see it. Typical uses are a shipping update, a promotion, or a note about something in the cart.
What does it cost?
The free plan is one notice, the notice features, and standard support. Plus is $9 a month, or $90 a year (save 17%), with a 3-day free trial. Plus adds unlimited notices and country redirects. Billing is on the Shopify invoice.
The app's Plus plan is not the same thing as a Shopify Plus store. Checkout notices need the store to be on Shopify Plus.
Do I edit theme code?
No. Add the quick-notice block in the theme editor and paste the notice key into Enter the Key. Remove the block the same way.
Can I preview before shoppers see it?
Yes. The editor shows a preview of the theme notice or the checkout notice while you edit. You can also open a ready-made template, preview it, and change the words.
The theme editor shows the block so you can place it. Check a normal storefront window before you call it done. The theme editor shows the notice even when targeting would hide it from a shopper.
Where can a notice show?
Inline in a theme section, or as a popup over the page. On a Shopify Plus store, the same app can show a notice in checkout. Create that notice with For Checkout Only, publish it, and paste the key into Notice Key on the checkout block.
Who can I show it to?
Leave Targeting Mode off to show the notice to everyone. The Targeting tab can also limit it by device (desktop or mobile), country, campaign source, cart vendor, SKU, or product type, or a customer tag.
Check a normal storefront window after you turn targeting on. The theme editor always shows the notice while you design it. If shoppers stop seeing it, turn Targeting Mode off and save. Details are in the usage guide.
What can the buttons do?
Dismiss the notice, open a link, accept tracking consent, add the products you picked, or clear the cart. You can use up to three buttons. The close mark on a storefront notice dismisses it.
Will a scheduled notice turn itself off?
You can save a start and an end, and the notice keeps those dates. The storefront does not hide it when the end date passes. Remove the theme block, or clear the key, to take it down. Checkout does hide a notice that is still a draft.
Does Plus fix broken links?
No. A Plus redirect sends visitors from the countries you choose to another store. It is not a map of old paths to new ones.
Is there a public API?
No. You run Quick Notice from the Shopify admin. There is no separate API to call.
How do I get help?
Email hello@xco.agency from the support page, with the shop domain and a screenshot of the admin or the storefront.
The notice is saved but shoppers do not see it.
Check the home page. The storefront app has to be on, and the visitor has to match the country, tag, cart, or device you set.
Can I send a visitor to another store by country?
Country redirects are listed on the home page. Set the redirect there, separate from the notice text.
The checkout notice never appears.
The notice has to be set to checkout, the app has to be on, and the cart has to match the rule.
Can I preview without publishing?
Yes. Use the preview before the notice is public.
The notice shows on an empty cart.
The cart rule is not set, or it matches an empty cart. Set the condition and preview again.
It shows on the storefront and I only wanted checkout.
Change where it shows to checkout only, then preview checkout.
