Troubleshooting
Shoppers do not see the notice
Work down this list.
- The theme block is on the theme you are viewing, and the theme is saved.
- Enter the Key matches the key on that notice. Copy it from the notice instead of retyping it.
- You are looking at the storefront, not only the theme editor. The editor shows the notice so you can design it.
- Targeting Mode is off, or the device, country, campaign, cart, and customer rules all match this visit. If the notice disappeared as soon as targeting was turned on, turn Targeting Mode off, save, and reload the store. Turn it back on only after the notice shows with no rules.
- For checkout, the notice is published, not a draft, and it was created For Checkout Only.
The home page shows whether Quick Notice is turned on in the theme. If that says it is off, turn the block or the redirect embed on in the theme editor and save.
Checkout shows a warning instead of the notice
The checkout editor warns you when the key is missing, the key does not match a notice, or the notice is still a draft.
- Paste the key into Notice Key.
- Publish the notice. Checkout does not show a draft to shoppers.
- Confirm the notice was created for checkout, not for the theme.
Checkout cannot be selected
For Checkout Only stays greyed out unless the store is on Shopify Plus. The app's $9 Plus plan does not turn that choice on. Use a theme notice instead, or move the store to Shopify Plus.
The notice is still up after the end date
A saved schedule does not remove the notice from the storefront. Remove the quick-notice block, or clear Enter the Key, and save the theme. In checkout, set the notice back to draft.
A button does nothing
Open the button on Settings and check its action and, for a redirect, the link. Add Products to Cart needs at least one product. Remove Products From Cart clears the whole cart, not a single line.
Save the notice after you change the button. Then reload the storefront. The theme editor is a poor place to test a redirect, because it opens the link in a new tab instead of sending the shopper there.
The view count looks wrong
The number on the notice list is how many shoppers the notice was shown to. The theme editor does not add to that count. Ignore the other click columns. They are not a reliable read of which button was used.
A country redirect does nothing
- The shop is on the Plus plan. The free plan does not include redirects.
- The rule is enabled, the countries are selected, and the destination is filled in.
- Redirects Setup is on under App embeds in the theme editor, and the theme is saved.
- You are testing from a country the rule includes. The redirect runs automatically. There is no confirmation step to click. That option is not available yet.
Redirects do not catch broken links. A visit is redirected because of the visitor's country, not because the path is missing.
Still stuck
Email hello@xco.agency with the shop domain, whether the notice is for the theme or checkout, and a screenshot of the notice and the storefront. See Support.
