Quick Notice
Getting started
Install the app, write one notice, preview it, and place it where shoppers will see it.
Install
- Open Quick Notice on the Shopify App Store.
- Install it on the store and finish the prompts Shopify shows.
- Open Quick Notice from the Shopify admin.
The home page lists your notices and shows whether the app is turned on in the theme.
Write the notice
- Create a notice.
- Choose For Theme Only for the online store, or For Checkout Only for checkout. Checkout is available when the store is on Shopify Plus. If that choice is greyed out, the store is not on Shopify Plus.
- Name the notice. The name is only for you. The title is what shoppers read.
- Write the message. On the Settings tab, set the type to Inline or Popup, and add up to three buttons.
- Open Display and set the colors, type, and spacing. The Preview beside the form updates as you edit.
- Save the notice. A new notice only offers Save as draft. After that first save you can Publish.
Copy the key shown next to the notice name. Use the copy button so the key matches exactly.
Put it on the storefront
- On the notice, choose Install, pick the theme, and continue. You can also open Online Store, then Themes, then Customize on that theme.
- Add the quick-notice block to the section where the notice should sit. An inline notice stays in that section. A popup covers the page.
- Paste the key into Enter the Key.
- Save the theme.
Open the storefront in a normal browser window, not only the theme editor. The theme editor shows the notice so you can design it, including a warning when it is still a draft.
Put it in checkout
Checkout notices are for Shopify Plus stores.
- Create the notice with For Checkout Only, preview it, and publish it. Checkout does not show a draft to shoppers.
- Copy the key.
- Open Settings, then Checkout, and customize the checkout you use.
- Add the Quick Notice block and paste the key into Notice Key.
- Save.
If the key is missing or does not match a notice, the checkout editor shows a warning instead of the notice.
