Frequently asked questions
Is there a free plan?
No. Basic is $4.99 a month. Advanced is $9 a month, or $90 a year. Business is $19 a month, or $210 a year. Each plan includes a 3-day trial. That trial is not a free plan.
What does each plan include?
- Basic: 100 gift card checks a month, basic analytics, standard support.
- Advanced: unlimited gift card checks, unlimited history, custom styles, advanced analytics, manual gift card sync, priority support.
- Business: everything in Advanced, plus a checkout balance checker. Business is for Shopify Plus stores.
Where do customers check a balance?
On the online store, wherever you add the checker in the theme editor. A signed-in customer can also see gift cards, and store credit or assigned codes when those are turned on, from a Your value block or their customer account.
Can they check during checkout?
Yes, on the Business plan, on a Shopify Plus store. They see the balance and can apply the card before paying.
Do cards I issued before the app still work?
Yes. The customer enters the code they already have. On Advanced and Business you can also sync those cards into the app so you can search them. Shopify does not return the full code of an older card, only the last four digits, so the full code is stored for cards this app creates or that you import.
What are store credit and discounts?
Optional extras beside gift cards. Both stay off until you turn them on under Modules. Advanced can turn one on. Business can turn both on. Leaving them off changes nothing about gift card checks.
Can I change the message when a code fails?
Yes. In the theme editor, edit the message on the checker block. You can also edit the emails the app sends, on Advanced and Business.
Does it work with Shopify Flow?
Yes, on the Business plan. The actions are Issue a gift card, Issue store credit, and Assign a discount code. Store credit and discounts have to be turned on before those two actions will run.
Is there a public API?
Yes, read-only. Generate a token under Settings, API Access. See API access.
More help
Can a shopper see someone else's card?
They need the code. Do not publish codes in a page, a menu, or an email that other people can open.
I only want balances. Do I have to turn on store credit?
No. Store credit and discount codes stay off until you enable them.
A shopper sees the wrong message for a bad code.
Edit the message in the app. That text is what shoppers see when a code cannot be checked.
Checkout does not show the checker.
Checkout balance checking is for Shopify Plus. Other stores use the checker on a page.
The balance does not match the gift card in Shopify.
Compare the code, not a similar one. Then refresh the checker. The balance comes from the gift card in Shopify.
How many checks are included?
Basic includes 100 checks a month and Advanced 500. You get an email as you approach the limit, when you are near it, and when you reach it.
Can the app remind customers before a card expires?
Yes, on Advanced and Business. See Remind customers about their gift cards.
Why does a wrong code show as not found?
A shopper typing a wrong code is normal. The app records it as not found, not as an error. Only a real fault is marked as an error.
