FAQ
What is Theme Scheduler?
Theme Scheduler by Maestro schedules a theme publish, or a change to sections and blocks, for a date and time. Use it for a sale, a seasonal banner, or a launch that should not wait for someone to be at the computer.
It is Built for Shopify, and it is made for Shopify and Shopify Plus. It is not a Plus-only app.
Do I have to publish the whole theme to change a banner?
No. Show or hide a section or block, and swap a banner, image, slideshow, or top bar, without republishing the theme. Publish a theme only when a whole theme should become the live one.
Which themes does content scheduling support?
Online Store 2.0 themes. If a theme cannot be opened for content scheduling, schedule a theme publish instead. If the theme preview does not load in your browser, open the app in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
Can a schedule repeat?
Yes. Run it once, or every hour, day, week, two weeks, or month. Set how many times, or leave it repeating until you stop it. The form does not have a separate list of weekdays.
Which timezone is used?
Your store's timezone, from Shopify settings. A schedule set for 9:00 runs at 9:00 in that timezone. Changing the store timezone in Shopify changes the clock the app uses.
What does it cost?
Advanced is $9.99 a month, or $102 a year (save 15%), with a 3-day trial. It includes unlimited theme publish schedules, one sections-and-blocks schedule, recurring schedules, history, and live chat.
Maestro is $49 a month, or $468 a year (save 20%), with a 7-day trial. It includes everything in Advanced, unlimited sections and blocks, unlimited content and visibility schedules, unlimited recurring schedules, and priority chat.
There is no free plan. Shopify bills the charge. Confirm the current price on the listing before you install.
Can I see what already ran, or undo it?
History lists each scheduled publish and content change. Stop or delete a schedule that has not run. Archive one that already ran. Archiving clears it from the active list. It does not by itself put the previous theme back.
Does it work with Shopify Flow?
Yes. Flow can publish a theme with the Publish Theme action. After a scheduled publish, the Scheduled Theme Published trigger can start the rest of a workflow. There is no separate public API.
Will scheduling Show hide the section until then?
No. If the section is already visible, it stays visible until the start time. Hide it in the theme editor, or schedule an earlier Hide.
Can I add a brand-new section from the scheduler?
No. Schedule sections and blocks that are already on the template. You can reorder them, and remove a block or a section the theme lets you remove. You do not add code to the theme, and you do not install a block for Theme Scheduler.
Who do I contact?
hello@xco.agency. Include the shop domain and what you expected to happen. Setup is on getting started.
Can I put the old theme back automatically?
Yes. Set the end of the schedule to publish the theme you want shoppers to see after the campaign.
What if I need to cancel?
Open the schedule before it runs and remove it, or archive it if it has already finished. A finished publish does not undo itself unless you scheduled the return.
Will this replace my theme file?
No. This changes theme-wide settings such as colors. Publishing another theme is a different schedule.
Can I archive a publish that already happened?
Yes. Archiving clears it from the calendar. It does not undo the publish. Schedule the return if you need the old look back.
The schedule says finished but the old theme is still live.
Publish the theme you want from Shopify now. Then open the schedule and check that you selected the right theme.
Should I delete a finished schedule?
Archive it. Deleting is not required. Archiving keeps the calendar focused on what has not run.
Is there an API?
Yes, read-only. Generate a token under Settings, API Access. It reads your scheduled themes and publish history. See API access.
Can I get a message when a schedule runs?
Yes. Connect Slack, WhatsApp or a webhook under Integrations, or use the Scheduled Theme Published trigger in Shopify Flow. See Get told when a schedule runs.
