Getting started
Install the app, then put either a theme publish or a content change on the calendar. You do not paste anything into the theme.
Install
- Open the Theme Scheduler by Maestro listing.
- Install it on the shop and approve the access Shopify shows.
- In the Shopify admin, open Apps, then Theme Scheduler.
The listing also has a short tutorial video.
Schedule a theme to go live
- On Home, choose Schedule Theme Publish.
- Name the schedule and select the theme that should become the live theme.
- Pick the date and time. The time is your store's timezone, the one in Shopify settings, not your laptop's clock.
- Leave it as a one-time schedule, or turn on a repeat: every hour, day, week, two weeks, or month. Set how many times it should run, or leave it repeating until you stop it.
- Save.
At that time, that theme is published. The rest of this guide is for changing the theme that is already live.
Schedule a section, block, or banner
Schedule Content changes the live theme without publishing a different one. Advanced includes one of these schedules. Maestro includes unlimited sections, blocks, and content schedules.
- On Home, choose Schedule Content.
- Select the theme. Content scheduling needs an Online Store 2.0 theme. If the theme preview does not load, open the app in Chrome, Firefox, or Edge.
- Choose the template, usually the home page.
- Select the section or block. Choose Show or Hide, or change its text, image, or other settings. A banner, slideshow, or top bar is scheduled the same way.
- Set the start time. Add a repeat if it should run again.
- Read the summary, then save.
If the section is already visible, Show does not hide it before the start time. Hide it in the theme editor first, or schedule Hide for an earlier time.
On that same schedule you can drag a section or block into a new order, and you can remove a block, or a section the theme lets you remove. Adding a section that is not already on the template is not part of the editor merchants use.
Theme-wide settings, such as colors, are on the Theme settings tab. That tab is marked Beta. A preview of the schedule shows sections and blocks only. Theme settings still apply when the schedule runs.
Stay on the store's default template. A market-specific version is marked beta and is not the supported way to schedule.
After you save
- On Home, switch between the list and the calendar to see what is coming.
- Open Timeline for scheduled theme publishes in order.
- After a run, history lists what happened. Archive completed schedules so Home stays on what is still ahead.
- Stop or delete a schedule that has not run. A schedule that already ran is archived instead of deleted.
