Theme Scheduler

Repeats, history, and Flow

These are the parts of Theme Scheduler you use after the first schedule is saved.

Repeating schedules

On a theme publish or a content schedule, choose a repeat:

  • Every hour
  • Every day
  • Every week
  • Every two weeks
  • Every month

Set how many times it should run, or leave it repeating until you stop it. Stop ends future runs and keeps the ones that already happened. There is no separate weekday checklist. Pick the interval, and the first date is the day it starts.

Recurring schedules are included on Advanced and Maestro. Maestro is the plan with unlimited recurring schedules, and it is also the plan that can duplicate a content schedule so you can shift the dates for the next campaign.

Calendar, timeline, and history

  • Home is the list of theme publishes, content schedules, and archived schedules. Switch that list to a calendar when you want the week or the month.
  • Timeline shows theme publishes in time order, including the next run of a repeat.
  • History records each scheduled publish and content change, and how it finished.

Archive a completed schedule from Home when the list should only show what is still coming. You can archive one schedule or the completed ones together.

A pending schedule can be edited or deleted. A schedule that already ran cannot be deleted. Archive it.

Theme settings

Theme settings schedules store-wide theme settings, such as colors, for a date and time. The tab is marked Beta because the change covers the whole storefront, not one section.

Preview does not draw those settings. It draws sections and blocks. The settings still apply when the schedule runs.

Shopify Flow

Theme Scheduler works with Shopify Flow in two ways:

  • Publish Theme publishes a theme you point it at, from any workflow.
  • Scheduled Theme Published starts a workflow after a scheduled publish runs. Use it to continue the work, for example a message to the team.

There is also a Flow template for a notification after a scheduled publish. Install and edit that workflow in Shopify Flow. For your own tools, see API access.

Languages

The admin follows the language of the Shopify admin when a translation exists: English, Spanish, French, German, Portuguese, Hebrew, Arabic, and Simplified Chinese. Hebrew and Arabic run right to left, and dates follow the language you are using. Traditional Chinese stays in English.
