Emails
Claimify emails the customer when a claim is created, updated, or rejected, and when you send return instructions. Standard templates are on Basic. Custom templates and branding are on Plus. Sending from your own domain is on Business.
Branding
In the email settings, set:
- Logo for the header
- Header heading, such as "Returns"
- Primary and secondary colors for buttons and accents
- Header and footer background and text colors
- Social links and the support email or phone in the footer
Layouts are Plain, Simple, Modern, Professional, and Structured. Send a test to yourself before you save a layout you have not seen in a real inbox.
Templates
| Template | When it sends |
|---|---|
| Claim created | The customer submits a claim |
| Claim updated | The status changes or you add a public update |
| Claim rejected | The claim is rejected |
| Return instructions | You approve a return and need to tell them how to send it |
Turn a template off if you do not want that moment to email anyone. A custom status can also be set not to email, so an internal move stays quiet.
Each template has its own subject, preview text, message, reply-to, and optional CC. You can put your message in front of the standard text or replace that text.
Words that fill in
Type these in the subject or the message:
{claimId}, the claim number{orderNumber}, the Shopify order number{customerName}, the customer's name{customerFirstName}, the customer's first name{status}, the status after the change
An optional greeting and an editable closing are on the template as well. Use the insert control in the editor if you are not sure of the spelling. Do not invent a placeholder. An unknown one is sent as plain text.
Check it
- Send the test email to your own inbox.
- File a real test claim on a staff order and confirm the created email arrives.
- Reject that claim and confirm the rejected template is the one they get, not the generic update.
- If you just verified a sending domain, send one more test from that address before customers use it. See Sending domain.
